Coriander powder adds a fresh pop of flavor to many spice blends, including garam masala, curry powder and taco seasoning.

But it is also a widely used spice for meat, vegetables, rice, tacos, burritos and even desserts. Here are some of my favorite recipes with ground coriander: Vegetable Biryani.

Coriander powder (called dhaniya powder in Hindi) is made from the roasted and ground seeds of the coriander plant.

Coriander powder is widely used in south Indian preparations, especially rasam, kara kuzhambu, vegetable preparations, etc.

It is an essential ingredient of many curries and gravies as it has a mild aroma that instigates the appetite.

Adding ground coriander to pancake and waffle mixes imparts a pleasing taste to it.

It is also rich in many vital vitamins, including folic acid, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin-A, beta carotene, vitamin-C, which are essential for optimum health.

Vitamin-C is a powerful natural antioxidant. 100 g of cilantro leaves provide 30% of daily recommended levels of vitamin-C.

Usage

Indian cooking, sausages, cookies, bread, cakes and falafel.
